About
TypeTranslate turns a book and its translation into typing practice. You read a sentence in a language you know and type the same sentence in the one you're learning, so grammar, spelling and vocabulary go in through your fingers, in the context of a story you enjoy.
Popular books are classics from Project Gutenberg that exist in several languages. We matched every translation to the English text sentence by sentence with a multilingual language model, and only publish translations that line up well, so the sentence you read is the one you type.
Search covers Project Gutenberg's 78,000 books, Wikisource in many languages, Wolne Lektury (Polish), Litteraturbanken (Swedish) and Ebooks libres et gratuits (French). Books you pick there are lined up automatically when you start, so pick editions that are as close to each other as you can.
These texts are in the public domain in the United States or free to share under their libraries' licences. Some translations may still be under copyright where you live; please check before you share them.
